Message from Ms. Carugno

I’m proud to share that EHTHS Esports won its first championship title today at the county tournament held at Atlantic Cape Community College, which featured schools from across South Jersey. Both our varsity and junior varsity teams finished undefeated, winning their respective brackets. Our JV team is also now back-to-back champions, winning their bracket in 2025 and 2026. What stood out most was the sportsmanship our students showed throughout the competition, earning praise from other coaches for their positivity and willingness to help opponents. Last month, our team also finished as quarterfinalists in the Winter State Championship, and we are excited to build on this success heading into the Spring State Championship.

Our FBLA students also had a strong showing at the 2026 State Leadership Conference. Anasstasia Mytnik placed 3rd in Public Speaking and qualified for the FBLA National Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas this summer. Eva Nye, our Chapter President, advanced to the final round in Digital Video Production, and Vidhi Patel was elected FBLA Southern Region Vice President, becoming a New Jersey FBLA State Officer. We are very proud of all of our students who represented EHTHS so well.

Tonight is opening night for our spring musical, In the Heights! Performances are Friday at 6:30 p.m., Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available at ehths.booktix.com, with any remaining tickets sold at the door.

Our Student Council Book Drive continues through March 13. Students can donate gently used books in Mr. Bell’s room (F212) and earn one community service hour per book (up to four hours).

Please support our Unified Team Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser on March 14 from 8:00–10:00 a.m. at Applebee’s in Somers Point.

Finally, families are invited to Passport to EHT: A Journey Through Our Cultures on March 25 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at the high school, a celebration of the many cultures that make our community so special.

Have a great weekend!
Ms. Carugno

Esports

I’m incredibly proud to announce that EHTHS Esports has won its FIRST championship title today! This year’s County tournament at ACCC was opened up to schools from all over South Jersey. EHTHS dominated the competition all day, with both our varsity team AND JV squad finishing undefeated, bringing home the championship in their respective brackets. This also makes our JV squad back-to-back winners of their bracket in 2025 and 2026. While it’s great to win big like this, I also take a lot of pride in what I heard from opposing coaches today. The students displayed good sportsmanship, they were helping opponents with their scorecards, and continued to maintain a positive, friendly attitude even as we entered the highest stages of competition. I have been doing this since 2018 and I can confidently say that this is a really special group of players that we have across both varsity and JV teams.

Last month, EHTHS also qualified and ended as quarter finalists in the Winter State Championship tournament. Our sights are now set on the Spring State Championship later this school year. We are so excited to carry this energy into our Spring season.

Women's History Month

As we celebrate Women’s History Month some of our junior and senior girls enjoyed a presentation by the Atlantic County Women's Hall of Fame for Women's History Month. The girls heard stories about overcoming obstacles, tenacity, and how to achieve your goals. Speakers included Robin Stoloff, Rita Mack, Fran Wise and Danielle Gomes Chapman. All left inspired! Thank you to the Atlantic County Hall of Fame for bringing this presentation to our school each year! Go do great things women of EHTHS!!

Policy 5516- Remotely Activating Communication Devices and Electronic Devices

As we begin the new school year, we would like to take a moment to remind the school community of our district’s no cell phone policy during the school day. This decision was made with one clear purpose: to keep our students focused on learning, socializing face-to-face, and fully engaging in the classroom experience.
