High School Weekly Round-up |
It looks like spring has finally sprung! Daffodils and tulips have begun to bloom and the snow has finally melted. This also means the sun is out later in the evening, the sound of cracking bats is echoing across fields, and graduation and summer are right around the corner.
We would like to congratulate Aerick Mallari, Carter Chew, and Paige Pacquing for being awarded $250 in C-SPAN’s National Documentary Competition for their film, Unfiltered: The Right They Tried To Silence. By interviewing local leaders like Mayor Laura Pfrommer and national figures like Mary Beth Tinker, they explored the complex reality of Freedom of Speech today. Their work is a reminder that our students aren't just learning history; they are actively participating in the conversation and teaching others. Please CLICK HERE to watch their video.
Our JROTC program displayed incredible discipline and excellence as they completed their yearly inspection. It was truly impressive to watch them showcase their drills. The precision, focus, and leadership on display were second to none.
The NJ Department of Education also officially named EHT a Model Program for World Languages for 2025–2028. This distinction is due to the hard work and dedication of the World Languages supervisor, Dr. Michele Schreiner, and her department. It’s an honor to know our K–12 Spanish Heritage program sets the gold standard for the state.
Our AP Art History students recently visited the Penn Museum, where they got up close and personal with artifacts from Egypt, Greece, and Rome. Additionally, our Science League is absolutely on fire! Currently ranked 1st in the most recent competition, the team continues to see success year after year and currently boasts the highest level of student participation seen in years. The Class of 2028 also raised the bar this week as they stole the lead from the seniors in the "Battle of the Classes." Remember, the winning class earns a Class Carnival at the end of the year!
On Monday, we will host our annual Career Fair, where students can explore various professions and even inquire about summer employment. We are especially proud that many of the 25 representatives joining us are EHT alumni or parents who have returned to share their success stories. Students will have the opportunity to visit our community members and local employers during their scheduled Health and PE classes.
Finally, I want to personally invite every one of you to Passport to EHT: A Journey Through Our Cultures on March 25 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. Our community is diverse and there is no better way to celebrate that than by coming together at the high school for a night of shared stories and heritage. I hope to see you all there!
Have a wonderful weekend! Ms. Carugno |

On Friday March 6, Green Life Solutions presented to our PACE Manufacturing students. This engaging presentation gave the class insight into the importance of Green Construction, Energy Efficiency and Remediations to convert existing construction efficient builds.
The speakers brought a simulation house in order to demonstrate how they perform Energy Audits on homes and all of the components from appliances, light bulbs, insulation and more that effect a structures efficiency.
The key takeaway was; It is more cost effective to convert an inefficient structure to become more efficient, than it is to make MORE, NEW POWER! |

As we begin the new school year, we would like to take a moment to remind the school community of our district’s no cell phone policy during the school day. This decision was made with one clear purpose: to keep our students focused on learning, socializing face-to-face, and fully engaging in the classroom experience. |
