Message from Ms. Carugno

Dear EHTHS Families,

It has been another exciting and event-filled week here at Egg Harbor Township High School and we are proud to share the many accomplishments of our students and staff.

We would like to recognize Jamie Ronquillo, who has been working hard mastering the guitar. Jamie participated in a recital at Guitar Center in Mays Landing, where he delivered an outstanding performance. We are incredibly proud of his dedication and talent.

We would also like to congratulate several students for successfully earning their Adobe certification. This is an impressive accomplishment that reflects both skill and commitment. Congratulations to Angela Ta, Naitaisha Coles Liataud, June Rose Seyler, Alex Lee, and Logan Inman on this achievement.

Senior Caleigh Paskalides recently completed an outstanding Civic Engagement Project in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Education’s High School Voter Education Week and the Atlantic County Superintendent of Elections. Through her work, Caleigh designed a customized ballot for our students, led presentations and simulations for first-time voters, and helped register approximately 100 new student voters. Her efforts are a powerful example of student leadership and civic responsibility.

Our History Showcase last night was a tremendous success, bringing together students and staff from Miller, Alder, Fernwood, and the High School. Guests enjoyed incredible student projects highlighting all 50 states and key moments in our nation’s history, along with delicious food prepared by our Culinary Academy and Eagle Transition Academy students and engaging live performances by our Fine and Performing Arts students. A special thank you to Ms. Hannigan for organizing the event and to the Wingman and Interact Clubs for their support.

Our boys and girls crew teams also had an incredible showing at the Garden State Scholastic Championship on the Cooper River, bringing home a total of six state medals. The boys Varsity 8+ and girls Varsity 4+ earned bronze medals, while the boys and girls Lightweight 4+ boats and boys Novice 8+ captured silver. The girls Novice 8+ crew took home gold, finishing first in the state. We are excited to see our Eagles continue their success as they head into the Philadelphia City Championships this weekend.

Finally, we invite all students, families, and community members to attend a special screening of Facing the Wind: A film about love, life, and dementia on Monday, May 4th at 7:00 PM in the EHTHS auditorium (doors open at 6:30 PM). This powerful documentary follows the journey of individuals living with Lewy body dementia and holds special significance for our community as it features retired EHT teacher Linda Szypula. A Q&A session will follow the screening, along with light refreshments. We hope you will join us!

Have a wonderful weekend!
Ms. Carugno

Social Studies

Hello EHT!!! Last week freshman, played the urbanization game which challenged them to turn villages into cities while also confronting the challenges of overcrowding, pollution, and inequality. Each stage pushed the kids to think critically about the trade-offs of progress and how societies respond to change. You can see their projects during our Social Studies Showcase this Thursday April 30th from 6-8pm at the high school. We’ll have live exhibits, games, food and more. Join us as we celebrate.

Culinary Academy

Culinary Academy had a busy week!

Mrs. Tucci’s students learned to make homemade pasta from scratch and created a fresh Alfredo sauce to go with it, and yes, they got to taste their work too! Hands-on learning at its best with delicious results.

Apprenticeship Week

It’s Apprenticeship Week, and today we hosted an incredible hands-on event for our students! They rotated through different stations, explored a variety of trades, and got a real feel for the skills and opportunities each path offers.

Thank you to everyone who helped make today possible, especially our amazing community partners and PACE instructors. Your time, support, and willingness to share your expertise made a big impact on our students!

Communications Academy

Bring Your Child to Work Day is always a special time for the Communications Academy, and this year was no exception. We had a wonderful time working with the kids to produce today’s Eagle News: Kid Edition.

The kids brought great energy to the experience, and it was a pleasure to see them step into the world of communications and broadcasting. We hope they had as much fun participating as we did!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day a success and for sharing your amazing kids with us!

Policy 5516- Remotely Activating Communication Devices and Electronic Devices

As we begin the new school year, we would like to take a moment to remind the school community of our district’s no cell phone policy during the school day. This decision was made with one clear purpose: to keep our students focused on learning, socializing face-to-face, and fully engaging in the classroom experience.
