Dear EHTHS Families,
I would first like to recognize our amazing staff during Staff Appreciation Week and thank them for all they do for our students. Here is a highlight of our week.
Our English Department hosted an Open Mic Night in celebration of National Poetry Month. Students and alumni shared poems, music, and personal stories, creating an evening that highlighted the creativity and talent of our students.
We are also proud of Kassidy Steet for doing an outstanding job introducing the EHTHS screening of Facing the Wind, a film focused on Lewy Body Dementia and inspired by the real-life experiences of former staff member Linda Szypula’s husband. The movie was informative and was followed by a question-and-answer session moderated by Kassidy. Special thank you to EHTTV and Key Club for supporting the event.
Congratulations to several students receiving scholarships and honors. Carrie Sutton was awarded the Atlantic County Association of School Administrators Performing Arts/Education Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 for her commitment to academics, service, and the arts. Lauryn Triniwell was selected as a recipient of the Atlantic Cape Principals’ & Supervisors’ Association Academic Scholarship and will receive a $500 award at the Academic Excellence Recognition Brunch.
Our PACE Manufacturing students toured the New Jersey American Water plant in Egg Harbor City, where they learned about water quality, infrastructure, and public safety. The experience provided valuable insight into the importance of utilities and engineering within our communities.
We are extremely proud that the Egg Harbor Township School District’s Hispanohablantes Program was recognized by the New Jersey Department of Education as a Model Program for World Language and Dual Language Immersion instruction. EHT is one of only five districts in New Jersey selected for this honor.
Our students also attended the Hispanic Youth Leadership Summit at Stockton University, where they participated in workshops focused on leadership, college preparation, and career pathways.
The AFJROTC cadets participated in the Drill Dynamics Workshop and several competitions, continuing to build leadership skills and teamwork. Congratulations to our Raider Team for earning 2nd place overall at the Mount Olive Marauder Challenge.
Congratulations to our Boys Track Team for winning their 11th consecutive Atlantic County Championship and our Girls Track Team for earning second place. Congratulations also to Mariah Newman for being selected to compete in the 2026 WJFlag Football All-Star Game, recognizing the top flag football athletes in South Jersey.
As a reminder, students are not permitted to bring personal devices to school as we are a one-to-one Chromebook school. Also, beginning Monday, May 11, the cafeteria and gymnasium will no longer serve as common spaces during Talon Time. All students must report to a teacher or assigned location by 7:25 a.m.
Happy Mother's Day!
