Dear EHTHS Families,
Egg Harbor Township High School has once again earned Eco-Schools Green Flag Certification, the highest level of recognition awarded through the Eco-Schools program. This distinction reflects the outstanding efforts of our students and staff in promoting sustainability through meaningful action and community engagement. The review team commended EHTHS for exceeding Green Flag criteria in all assessed areas, including student leadership, schoolwide engagement, community partnerships, communication, documentation, and sustainability initiatives. Highlights included our dune grass restoration project, pollinator garden, climate-focused art activities, and environmental research projects. Students demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills while addressing real-world issues such as beach erosion and water quality. Nearly 300 students participated directly in these initiatives, and their work was shared with the broader community through articles, videos, and public displays. We are grateful for our partnerships with the Department of Environmental Protection, American Littoral Society, and Xerces Society for helping provide these valuable learning experiences.
Our AP Government students recently partnered with Ms. Minsun's first-grade class for the second annual Civics Day. This year's theme, Happy Birthday America, gave our students the opportunity to teach younger learners about the significance of Independence Day. Together, they created birthday cards for America, assembled a large American flag, and celebrated citizenship and civic engagement.
This week, students also participated in a variety of celebrations and activities sponsored by MSA, ALAB, the Communications Academy, AP Math, the Multicultural Club, and AFJROTC. These events showcased the talent, diversity, and school spirit that make EHTHS such a special place.
At our Senior Awards Ceremony, we proudly recognized 153 seniors who collectively earned more than $19.6 million in scholarships. We also celebrated 111 students who earned the Seal of Biliteracy, including several who achieved recognition in multiple languages. A special thank you to Ms. Nancy Musacchio for organizing such a memorable evening.
We also celebrated 835 students at our Academic Achievement Breakfast. These students maintained an unweighted average of 90% or higher through the first three marking periods, demonstrating an outstanding commitment to academic excellence. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and dedication.
Graduation is now just one week away! To enhance safety and ensure an efficient entry process, a no-bag policy will be in effect during the ceremony. Small purses will be permitted; however, all permitted bags will be subject to search upon entry.
